Mini Sephora Haul and First Impressions

All of these products are ones that are super hyped up on the Internet. Personally, I am one of those people that tends to be skeptical of over-hyped products, but on this trip I went in with the mindset of blogging and seeing if these products were really worth it. I initially set out to get the Kat Von D Tattoo Liner to do a Worth the Hype post on it but soon decided to pick up a few more and do a first impressions post instead.

Boscia MakeUp-BreakUp Cool Cleansing Oil

Probably one of the most talked about cleansing oils online recently has been this one from Boscia. On the way out of Sephora, they had a sample portion that was tucked on the little shelves near the register (those things always get me). Since I had been wanting to try this product for a while, I decided I could test it out for $10.00. Since this is just a sample size, it only contains 1.7 fl oz but I felt like that was perfect just in case I didn’t turn out to be a fan. Unfortunately for my wallet, I love it. I was used to using the Garnier Cleansing Oil but I always felt like it left my face just a bit too greasy after using and didn’t fully remove my makeup. With this Boscia product, I do feel the cooling effect and it really feels nice on my skin after a long day. I also can tell a difference with the makeup removal too. On a super lazy day, this doubles as a face cleanser as well. So far I am really enjoying it and am already considering repurchasing.

NARS Radiant Creamy Concealer

If there is one concealer that has so much talk surrounding it, it has to be this one. As I’ve said before, I struggle with covering my super dark circles all the time. I have very fair skin (this concealer is in the lightest shade, Chantilly) which means that I have a really tough time finding shades that are light enough but still provide high coverage. With this product, I think that it covers more than any drugstore concealer I’ve used. It does set pretty quickly so you have to work one eye at a time, but it truly does provide the coverage I need. The shade is actually slightly lighter than my skin so it provides a bit of a highlight which I normally can’t get from a concealer. After setting it, I notice that it doesn’t stray or crease all day long. After putting it on initially, it does seem a bit stark but once it settles, it covers my dark circles fabulously.

Kat Von D Tattoo Liner in Trooper

When I went into Sephora, I asked the sales woman to tell me her thoughts on the Kat Von D liner. I knew I was already going to make the purchase but I wanted to see what she would suggest for me and if she felt that this was the best product. After seeing her swatch it on her hand, it came out blacker than black and dried instantly. The finish wasn’t a dry matte, but rather a natural looking line. Once I got it home and tried it out, it creates a super thin and precise line. The brush tip does take a bit of time to get used to but once you do, it creates the perfect cat-eye flick.

So those are all my recent Sephora purchases! While sometimes products that have a ton of hype surrounding them fail, these all were successful purchases.
