MOTD: Simple, Dewy Makeup

IMG_4890 after photoshopQuick little makeup of the day that I decided to do after taking photos for my upcoming post reviewing the bareMinerals Bare Skin Foundation. That post will be up on Monday if you’re interested.

I recently got some new products from Sephora (which I posted here) and decided to make a post where I used them. The new additions to my collection are the Kat Von D Tattoo Liner and the Nars Radiant Creamy Concealer.

I wanted to go with a fresh, soft, dewy look today. Since I live in Florida I don’t really experience the insanity of dry skin when it gets cold, but my skin does react a little bit because of the constant change in temperature. To fight against this, I have been going for a glowy, minimal look lately.

For my foundation, I used the bareMinerals Bare Skin foundation in the shade 01, Bare Porcelain, which is a great match for my fair skin. I don’t want to drone on about this foundation too much because I have an entire post on it coming up soon!

I next covered up my dark circles with the Nars Radiant Creamy Concealer in Chantilly, which is the lightest shade. I set this and my foundation with my Rimmel Stay Matte translucent powder. I only added this to my T zone and under eye area to avoid mattifying the dewy effect of the foundation. To finish off the face, I added a bit of my Tarte Amazonian Clay 12-hour blush in the shade Magic to the apples of my cheeks.

On the eyes, I used the Urban Decay Primer Potion in Eden to prime my eyelids. I just used the sample package that came with my Naked 3 pallete. After priming, I went in with the Naked 3 and blended the color Nooner slightly into the crease. I then went in with Burnout on the inner half of the lid and the smallest amount of Mugshot on the outter corner. I then added a tiny bit of Dust into the inner corner to add some shine to the look.

After the shadows, I created a thin line along my lash line with the Kat Von D Tattoo Liner in Trooper. This liner makes a super thin line insanely simple. If you want to see my first impression on this liner, click here. I added some of my Tarte Lights, Camera, Lashes mascara to finish off the eyes.

For my brows (which are in serious need of maintenance, forgive me) I used the Revlon Brow Fantasy pencil and gel in Dark Brown. Once I gather all of my thoughts on this, I am thinking about doing an entire review on the product.

I topped the look off with a quick swipe of the Revlon Colorburst Balm Stain in the shade Honey. This lip product adds the perfect amount of tint to my look but feels amazing like a balm.

So that was it! My MOTD for a winter day in Florida. Keeping it simple (as always) and, currently, dewy. Let me know below what your favorite products were for an everyday look in January!

Neutral Eyes for the New Year

IMG_0014.JPG

For most people, New Years Eve means bold makeup and going out all evening. For me though, I work most of the night on New Year’s Eve this year so my makeup look is going to be a quick and easy look that I can throw on before I go out. My daily look is generally something very similar to this but I just thought I would share my look in case some if you were planning on staying in with friends this year!

For this look I used the Naked 3 palette which I got for Christmas. I started out by priming the lids with Urban Decay Primer Potion in Eden. Then I applied Mugshot all over the lid. Even though this shade is a bit dark it is the exact shade of bronze that I was looking for. I then blended Nooner into the crease and into the outer corner. I applied Factory into the outer corner and then blended it well into the other shades. I topped the easy look off with Dust all over the lid and Burnout on the inner half of the lid.

So that’s it! This look would be great with a super vampy lip because it is so neutral. Let me know what your New Years plans are in the comments below!
